The Place
The KiMo is the most Albuquerque building on Central, a 1927 Pueblo Deco theater the city saved and still runs. Terracotta and turquoise and painted ceilings, it is a landmark first and a stage second, and the stage is a good one. What plays here is deliberately all over the map: touring music, spoken word, film, theater, whatever the room is right for.
It seats a few hundred, close and ornate, the kind of room where the building is part of the show. A night at the KiMo is as much about where you are sitting as who is on stage. Check the listing, the calendar swings from concerts to poetry to old movies.
Everything else on Central is on the full calendar.
