School of Rock’s graduate ensemble takes the Fusion Theater stage for a full set built around the sounds of Memphis, which means expect Stax-era soul, classic blues, and probably some Beale Street grit filtered through kids who have been working this material seriously. Fusion is a small, intimate black-box theater, so the sound lands close and the room has zero tolerance for a loose performance, which tends to focus young musicians in ways a club stage doesn’t.
