Green is the New Red Documentary

August 2 · 12:00 am - 11:59 pm

Anna Recalde Miranda’s 2024 documentary connects the political violence of Operation Condor in 1970s Latin America to Paraguay’s present-day agricultural crisis, arguing that the same power structures behind torture and land grabs now sustain an agrochemical soy industry that is decimating soil, insects, and Indigenous communities. This is part of an ongoing documentary series at the NHCC, and pairing it with a stop at the Visual Arts Museum next door turns an afternoon into a coherent argument across two different mediums. Tickets are free but require a reservation, so call the box office Tuesday through Saturday if the online link gives you trouble.
