Route 66 Summerfest

The city closes Central from Girard to Washington and hands the street back to the people who actually use it. Four stages of live music across one mile of Nob Hill, each one working a different decade of the Mother Road. The Docksiders close the main stage at 8:30 with yacht rock played straight, and before that you get the Albuquerque Jazz Orchestra, a brass band, and a long run of local acts. Free, rain or shine, and Central stays shut until Sunday morning.
