Alamosa Community Center
Albuquerque / THE ROOM
Why this room makes the map
Out on the Southwest Mesa, the Alamosa Community Center has something most city rec centers lack: an outdoor amphitheater and performance space. It serves the West Side and South Valley, a long way from the downtown bar crowd.
About the room
The city built the Alamosa Multi-Service Center in 2001 at 6900 Gonzales Rd SW, a complex of nearly 60,000 square feet designed by Kells + Craig Architects. The community center is part of the Ted M. Gallegos Complex and shares its building with a public library and a city health and social services office.
Before you go
Shows on the amphitheater are at the mercy of mesa weather, so bring a layer after dark. Check the City of Albuquerque's Alamosa page or the center's Facebook page for current hours and events.
