Historic Old San Ysidro Church
Albuquerque / THE ROOM
Why this room makes the map
Few concert rooms in the metro are made of mud. The Old San Ysidro Church in Corrales is an 1868 adobe that seats about 150, and the volunteer-run Music in Corrales series has been bringing folk, roots and world musicians into it since 1986.
About the room
The church got its towers in 1929, was deconsecrated in 1961, and went onto the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The Corrales Historical Society looks after the building and fills it with art shows and a winter craft fair when there is no concert on.
Before you go
Seating is open, and ticket holders who are not seated 10 minutes before the start can lose their seats. The church is at 966 Old Church Road in Corrales; musicincorrales.org and corraleshistory.org carry the schedules.
