Why this room makes the map
The New Mexico Jazz Workshop has kept live jazz going in Albuquerque since 1979, three years after eight musicians started it as a cooperative in Santa Fe. Its summer outdoor concerts at the Albuquerque Museum amphitheater have long drawn some of the biggest jazz, salsa and blues crowds in town.
About the room
The workshop's building at 5500 Lomas Blvd NE holds classes and Saturday morning jam sessions. In January 2026 the nonprofit merged with Outpost Performance Space and now works under the Outpost banner.
