South Broadway Cultural Center
Albuquerque / THE ROOM

Why this room makes the map
The John Lewis Theatre inside the South Broadway Cultural Center is a 300-seat city-owned house with projection, lighting and sound built for concerts, film, dance and plays. It puts a real stage in one of Albuquerque's oldest neighborhoods.
About the room
The center opened in April 1994 at 1025 Broadway Blvd SE, replacing a storefront that had held a small performance space and a library. The building now combines the theater, an art gallery, a community room and the South Broadway branch library.
Before you go
Outside groups rent the theater as well as city programs, so buy tickets through whoever is presenting the show. The center's page on cabq.gov lists events and current hours.
