Spirit Stage is an all-ages music room and gallery inside the old B. Ruppe drugstore on Fourth Street in Barelas. For decades the pharmacy doubled as a yerbería, where curandera Maclovia Sanchez de Zamora mixed herbal remedies for the neighborhood until her death in 2017.
About the room
B. Ruppe dates to the 1880s in Old Town and moved to 807 4th St SW in the mid-1960s, long known as the city's oldest continuously operating pharmacy. Spirit Stage uses about 1,800 square feet of the building for shows, weddings and community gatherings, and shares it with a holistic health practice.
