This bar has a boxing ring in it. Teresa Tapia opened the lounge as a standing memorial to her late husband, world champion Johnny Tapia, and local fighters train and spar there while the bar shows televised fights.
About the room
The lounge takes up the bottom floor of Leo's at 12th Street and Candelaria Road NW in the North Valley, run with Leo's owner Leo Nunez. Giant photos of Johnny Tapia and his sons hang on the walls, and during the day the room works as a boxing gym with the bar closed.
