The Lab At Stardust
Albuquerque / THE ROOM
Why this room makes the map
The Lab at Stardust is a small experimental art space run by new media artist John-Mark Collins, who layers video projection over what happens on stage. It is best known for monthly poetry open mics with costume themes, one of them held in pajamas.
About the room
The space is at 403 Mountain Rd NW, north of downtown. Collins, a creative technologist, has used motion capture to turn poets into on-screen characters while they read.
Before you go
Most events run on a suggested donation, often $5 to $10, so have a few dollars on hand. Programming is irregular, so watch the Lab's Instagram for what is coming up.
