Why this room makes the map
The Pit is not a nickname pasted onto an arena. It is the arena: a sunken Albuquerque landmark where Lobo basketball turns a university building into a citywide gathering place.
About the room
The home of Lobo hoops was built 37 feet below grade and has carried New Mexico basketball since 1966. The current building seats roughly 15,400 and still has the peculiar acoustics and steep sense of arrival that make a game here feel bigger than the scoreboard.
Before you go
Use the official Lobo ticket and gameday information before you leave. The Pit is at 1111 University Boulevard SE; check the entrance, parking, clear-bag rules, and ticket delivery so the first roar is not heard from the wrong side of the building.
