A Moscow-based ensemble of roughly 15 musicians performing note-for-note recreations of Chicago’s catalog, horn charts and all, is a stranger premise than it sounds, and a more convincing one than most tribute acts manage. Kiva Auditorium seats around 2,000, which is large enough for the brass section to breathe but intimate enough that you’re never watching a Jumbotron. If Chicago itself hasn’t toured through Albuquerque in years, this is the closest thing to that show, and the musicianship argument for going is real.
